Hike up the highest mountain of the Gutensteiner Alps: the Reisalpe. This tour starts from Traisenbeck and first leads up to the Zeissalm and from there via unmarked routes through alpine pastures to the Hochstaff. The tour then passes by the Kleinzeller Hinteralm and ascends towards the Reisalpe.

Hike up the Reisalpe, the highest peak of the Gutensteiner Alps starting from Traisenbeck via Zeissalm and Hochstaff

The tour starts at Traisenbeck, a very small village with limited parking availability. The tour follows a nice forest road up first towards the Zeissalm. From there, the tour is not following any trail but directly through a steep mountain pasture till reaching the first highlight: the summit of Hochstaff with its scenic view. The tour then descends towards the cozy Kleinzeller Hinteralm (only open during summer season) and ascends towards the highest peak of the Gutensteiner Alps, the Reisalpe allowing yet another stunning view. After a deserved break at the hut, the route descends again towards the Kleinzeller Hinteralm and then follows the forest road downwards back to the parking.
