Easy Alpine Tour: “Schneeberg via Nandlgrat (I) and descending via Fadensteig (A/I-)”

Climb up to Schneeberg from Losenheim via the Nandlgrat. This steep trail requires basic climbing skills (I) and sometimes passes scree slopes but offers a promising and sportive exercise. After a good meal at the Fischerhütte, the descent is done via the Fadensteig (A, I-).

Climb up Schneeberg via the “Nandlgrat” (I) and descend via the “Fadensteig” (A/I-)

This tour starts at the parking of the chair lift in Losenheim (GPS: 47.791747, 15.831263). The ascent is done by following the trail next to the chair lift up to the Edelweißhütte (Note: The tour can be shortened by taking the chair lift up and down). The tour then follows the Nördlicher Grafensteig trail which crosses with the Nandlgrat (sometimes also called Nandlsteig). The steep Nandlgrat (some easy climbing, I) leads up towards the Fischerhütte but crosses first the Fadensteig.
After a well-deserved break at the Fischerhütte, the descent is done via the Fadensteig which ends again at the Edelweißhütte. The final descent can then either be done by the chair lift or by following the trail downwards into the valley.
