Easy and short tour through the “Strohwollner gorge”
The tour starts at Wildental in “St. Martin bei Lofer”, following the small roads towards the “Strohwollner Schlucht”. After passing some farms, the trail leads directly into the gorge next to a small river. Wooden stairs lead upwards next to the impressing water fall. The trail then crosses to the descending trail (turn left) which in turn leads back to Strohwolln.
The tour is very easy and the trail is mostly in the shadow (rarely sun exposed). Thus the tour is great for a hot summer day and absolutely suitable for children.
Tour Description
| 00:00 | Parking at the parking lot Wildental |
| 00:05 | Start the tour at “Frühstückspension Wildental” (restaurant) Follow the left road towards Strohwolln. |
| 00:10 | After passing some farms, turn right into the first possible road. After some meters the road ends and the trail starts (passing a grid). |
| 00:12 | After passing the river, turn right at the next possible trail, following the river. |
| 00:15 | Take the wooden stairs next to the water fall. |
| 00:25 | At the end of the gorge, turn left at the first possible crossing and follow the trail downwards. |
| 00:30 | Follow the trail to Strohwolln on the same way back. |
| 00:40 | Coffee break: Enjoy coffee and home-made cake at the Frühstückspension Wildental. |
